Are the hypermarkets near Calais/channel tunnel open on a Sunday?

The law here in France says all shops must be closed one day at least once a week. So most shops will be closed on Sunday. Only busy area in central Paris will you find supermarkets or grocery shops opened on a Sunday. Some area in Les Alpes, only supermarkets ( only half day is allowed ) and boulangeries ( bakery ) are allowed to open on a Sunday. As for hypermarchés, due to their massive sizes, if opened on a Sunday, it will cost a lot to run such as pay the staffs etc, are usually closed on Sunday. There is a normal size supermarket called Monoprix opened on Sunday in Calais centre though.

yes, but they know the majority of their customers are from the UK so prices are higher than in other supermarkets at other times
