Question:
Do French people find artifacts from WWI and WWII often?

I am an American, and I wondered how often people in France come across pieces of the wars. For instance do people who live around St. Lo or Normandy often find brass ( casings of fired ammo) when they dig? I figured the chances of finding WW2 artifacts are greater since WW1 was more more static and happened in a more concentrated area. I visited a few American civil war battlefieds and the residents often find minié bullets ( they aren't small just named after a Frenchman Claude Minié).

Yes, especially in areas where they saw a lot of fighting. As a little girl some (ahem) many years ago in the north of France I found machine gun bullets in our house's sandbox, played with mines uncovered by the sand on the Boulogne sur Mer beach (survived it), and knew a farmer who complained about the amount of metal he dug up from his fields every year. Talking to someone in St Lo I learned that this was still a regular occurance around the place. A few years back a house was found with still the bomb traps in it left by a retreating nazi army. And bombs are still dug up regularly, forcing cities to evacuate the area until it has been dealt with. There a few thousand tons of unexploded WWI and II ordinance waiting to be dealt with in depots in France.

Of course, there are many things left from the war in France ( In the other countries as well certainly).

When I was younger, I played with a friend in a wood near home and we found an old lighter hidden behind some rocks , my friend's dad looked at it and said it was a soldier's lighter. I know there also are hunters who will sell what they found or give it to museum if it is an important object.

Some houses may also have hidden things as well from the wars and the new owners can find it. There are plenty of objects still hidden ;)

You need to research the French Underground in WW II, and learn of their bravery in saving many American lives among the military, while risking their lives. No country was prepared for the war machine that Hitler had been building since the early '30s. I'm not French, but you are stating an injustice and inaccurate information.

Of course....artifacts are found all the time..... most often they are sold at local flea markets and second hand stores..... sometimes these artifacts are dangerous and local police are called in and the military help dispose of them..... there are artifacts from all wars.... I live in the Philippines and we find artifacts all the time.....one tourist bought a handful of army dog tags at a Vietnam flea market....then tried to return them to the next of kin.....

As an amateur treasure hunter I have several treasure stories in my files related to war artifacts.....including an old mine in Germany filled with German war supplies that was dynamited closed to keep it from falling into American hands.....included were many German motorcycles in mint condition ..... the problem is local laws make recovery difficult

I just tried https://tr.im/V6IhC last year to see if I could Locate my birth-father. My bio father left me when I was 7, and has refused to be a part of my life since. I grew up with my bio Mother and Step-father. I have only ever talked to my biological father a couple times until now. All I knew of him personally when I conducted the search was his first name, last name, and the street address of a previous address he used to have.

When the search results came back based on the minimal info I had, It pulled up a recent address along with even a phone number. When I called the phone no., I heard the voice of what sounded like it may be my step-brother. I asked if Joseph(my biological dad) was there, and he said no but to try back after 5.

I haven't done anything with the info, But I found what I was wanting to have.

In areas that saw less fighting, you can find weapon caches from the French resistance, especially in old buildings. An aunt of mine found grenades hidden in the from she had bought in Touraine.

And I still have a parachute that was used in the region of Orléans to send supplies or weapons to the FFI.
