In Paris, which is what most people think of first, there are dozens of famous landmarks including:

Eiffel Tower

Notre Dame de Paris

Sacre Coeur

Pompidou Centre

Grand and Petit Palais

The Louvre

Sainte Chapelle

Conciegerie

The Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysees

St Sulpice (mentioned in the Da Vinci Code)

Jardin de Luxembourg

Jardin de Tuileries

Jardin du Plantes

Sorbonne University

But there are just as many outside the capital:

Chartres Cathedral

Pont du Gard near Nimes

the Roman Amphitheatre in Arles

Pont St Benezet and the Pope's Palace in Avignon

Mont St Michel

Palace of Versailles

Chateau de Chambord and dozens of chateaux in the Loire Valley

Lourdes Grotto

Monet's Garden at Giverney

The Bayeux Tapestry

Carcassonne

Millau Viaduct

And that's just a few.
